DR. ANDREW TRAN
Dr. Andrew Tran is a dedicated dentist in Matthews, NC, passionate about transforming dental experiences. He grew up and pursued his academic journey in Charlotte, NC. After completing his education at Providence High School, he went on to study at UNC Charlotte, securing his Bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Biology.
His dentistry path led him to the UNC School of Dentistry, where he earned his DDS degree in 2012. It was also in this institution that his path crossed with Dr. Zuleika Javed, whom he fell in love with; the two formed a bond and married a year later in 2013.
Dr. Tran accumulated experience working at several dental clinics as an associate dentist before founding Matthews Dental Spa with a vision to transform the typical dental experience.
“Our vision for this dental spa is to alleviate any dental anxieties you might have. By creating a spa-like ambiance, we offer a relaxing environment and friendly faces, allowing you to indulge in the richness of our self-care services designed to rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit,” he expressed with excitement.
Outside of his profession as a dentist in Matthews, NC, Dr. Tran dedicates his time to guiding youngsters at his youth group and volunteering at the Mission of Mercy clinic. Leisure time often finds him surrounded by family and friends. A passionate food enthusiast, Dr. Tran is fond of everything related to culinary arts—from watching the Food Network, exploring restaurants, cooking, and curating recipes to simply relishing a good meal.
Among other interests, Dr. Tran loves playing Ultimate Frisbee, staying fit through exercise, spending quality time with his three dogs (Mocha, Latte, and Punk), catching the latest movies, and enjoying motorcycle rides.

DR. ZULEIKA JAVED
Dr. Zuleika Javed is a distinguished dentist who earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the UNC School of Dentistry in 2012. After starting her career in Wilmington, she married Dr. Andrew Tran, her classmate and now the owner of Matthews Dental Spa. This dental practice in Matthews near Charlotte, NC, is a product of their combined experience and dedication.
Renowned for her innovative approach, Dr. Javed’s dental office in Matthews, NC is a fusion of luxury and comfort, featuring spa-like décor and serene music, creating a tranquil atmosphere and pleasant experience for patients.
Dr. Javed is known for her gentle demeanor. She believes strongly in a personalized approach to dental care. She emphasizes treating each patient as a valued guest, a testament to her gentle and caring approach to dentistry.
Her early life and education were in Raleigh, where she earned Bachelor’s degrees in Microbiology and Biochemistry from NC State. Beyond her dental practice, Dr. Javed is actively involved in community service, participating in volunteer events like Mission of Mercy clinics and organizing various charity initiatives. She also mentors undergraduates aspiring to enter professional schools.
In her personal time, Dr. Javed enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and three dogs: Mocha, Latte, and Punk. She and her husband enjoy staying active through outdoor activities or gym sessions. Traveling is her other passion, and she loves sharing stories of her adventures upon her return.
